My Story
My name is Kai Whitehead. I have been in the appliance installation industry for 15 years now and this is how i came to finding Blue-Chip Installation.

Starting in 2012 working for a local agent here in Salt Lake City, we serviced the Home Depot contract at that time so i was able to learn very quickly the in's and out's of in home customer care. 8 years of experience in this specific field, gave me all of the tools i needed to overcome any obstacle that someone in my industry could think of. The last few years of that stretch I was very involved with the new builder program where we would deliver and install into brand new home subdivisions and worked closely with a majority of new home builders in our market. I was quick to make a name for myself by not only the volumes I was able to accommodate, but also the precision quality that came with it. My efforts landed me a promotion within my company that would escalate to Operations Manager within just 2 years time. I had incredible exposure not only servicing our customers in the field, but also maintaining relationships with our customers in the office.

I loved helping in the position that I was in and the relationships that I had formed by doing so, but a lingering issue would continue to bother me...

The employees we had did not seem to care about servicing our customers on a level that I could accept. Our providing customer was shopping around for other agents to preform the work and things seemed very bleak for us. I brought transparency to our teams that we could very well lose the contract, but it yielded no change.
I felt empty knowing that my years of effort with this company could be for nothing if we didn't pull it together fast. Stepping back into the field felt like a demotion. Staying put felt stagnant. I was looking for career changes and I was devastated.

Within just 3 weeks, I decided to leave the company I had been with for over a decade, establish my own contracting company and contract the work from them myself. I did not want to see the work I knew so well, just disappear from us.

I was back in the field and I had something to prove. Blue-Chip Installation would service every customer with the highest quality on every level and that is exactly what we did. Between myself and just 1 other employee that I hired and trained, we were dominating the multi-family market for our customer. We were preforming at such a level that were raising eyebrows on a national level. 106 other agents across the country doing this same work and we were setting an example as to how this should look. They wanted to know what it was that Blue-Chip was doing differently from the other agents in order to achieve the satisfaction scores from their customers.

We cared. We didn't take shortcuts. We communicated. We met deadlines even if it meant we stayed out later than everyone else. We became a solution for project management teams instead of another problem trade.

Today, we continue to serve our customers at a higher level than we did the day before.
